The W New York Downtown is the latest hotel in Manhattan to announce its permanently closing its doors. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have been detrimental to the hotel industry specifically in New York City, resulting in the permanent closure of many hotels in the city.

Why are there no hostels in the US?
