Connemara, region of County Galway, western Ireland. It lies west of Galway city and Loughs (Lakes) Corrib and Mask.
The Aran Islands—three rocky, windswept islands set of the west coast of Ireland—are 30 miles (47 km) from the city of Galway. The closest island is Inis Mór (Inishmore), which is also the largest of the three. Getting to the islands require either a passenger ferry—no cars are allowed on the ferry—or a short flight.
Trust us, you'll never find yourself traipsing through the rain for hours trying to find something to do.
If you are still in the early stages of planning your trip to Ireland, I strongly suggest you spend 2-3 days in the Connemara area.
For Galway, I would budget at least 2 full days to do sightseeing outside of Galway and at least half a day to see sights in Galway. Galway is perfectly placed to explore some of Ireland's top sights including the Cliffs of Moher and Connemara National Park. Both are fantastic destinations.
Galway is home to a vibrant nightlife scene. The city has numerous pubs and bars as well as a few nightclubs along with some of the finest theatres and comedy clubs in the country.
