Which is nicer Lake Como or Lake Garda?
The general perception is that Lake Garda is more touristy and crowded than Lake Como. On the other hand, Lake Como is developed all the way around the lake… but with scattered villages that range between touristy and crowded and the more “authentic.” (Como, Bellagio, and Varenna are especially popular with visitors).
Which is better to visit Lake Como or Lake Maggiore?
It is arguably, the more famous destination between the two. The luxurious villas in Lake Como are hard to rival. However, given the proximity to Milan, it can get quite crowded around peak season and public holidays. Lake Maggiore is easier to get to by car.
Where do I go after Lake Como?
You could visit Iseo Lake, different from Lake Como and I would visit Bergamo old town (Bergamo alta) on the way. If departing from Malpensa, consider Lake Maggiore - Stresa has direct Alibus connections to Malpensa. If hiring a car, you might also consider Lake Lugano or Piemonte (wine and rolling countryside).
